The Central States chapter of IPMI began its twelfth year in March, having had its by-laws approved at an organizational meeting at Lake Tahoe in 1986. From the eight people attending that meeting, membership has risen to the current level of 66.
Two business meetings and one purely social function are held during the year. Meeting topics and speakers are carefully selected to address the concerns and interests of our members, and attendance has averaged 40% of total membership. Past topics have included environmental issues, investment strategies in the gold market and risk management. We hope to solicit growth through timely topics and commitment to continuing education for our members.
We foster communication among members by providing newsletters and other pertinent information as it becomes available, and encourage communication between local chapters regarding successful topics and activities.
We appreciate the support of the Board of Directors of IPMI and look forward to continuing growth. |
